Milad Abolhasani is Senior Vice President of Chemistry in Residence at Lila Sciences and ALCOA Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina State University. Milad brings deep expertise in self-driving laboratories, autonomous experimentation, flow chemistry, microfluidics, and autonomous science and engineering, with a research program focused on accelerating the discovery, optimization, and scalable manufacturing of advanced functional materials and molecules.
At LILA, he leads chemistry-centered efforts at the intersection of high-throughput experimentation, multimodal analytics, robotics, and autonomous science to accelerate scientific advances.
His contributions have been recognized through multiple national and international awards, including the NSF CAREER Award, the AIChE Colburn Award, and the ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering Lectureship Award.
Milad holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, an MS from the University of British Columbia, and a BS from Sharif University of Technology. He was also awarded an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT.
