John Kim is Chair and President of Corporate Development at Lila Sciences. He is one of the world’s most trusted and experienced fundraisers, having raised tens of billions of dollars across his career to support the growth of the most promising companies of our time.
Prior to LILA, John served as Chief Client Officer at General Catalyst. Previously, he held roles at J.P. Morgan, Court Square Capital, and Kelso & Company.
He launched his career in marketing at IBM, where an early curiosity in the art of persuasion grew into three decades of refining the techniques, science, and psychology of fundraising. John has raised more than $70B across industries and distilled those lessons into his book, The Tao of Fundraising, released in Spring 2026.
John holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Brown University.
