Bob Gantzer is Vice President of Next Generation Platform at Lila Sciences, where he leads the development of scalable AI Science Factories (AISF) built on a “lab-as-software” foundation, enabling generalizable, AI-controlled automation across scientific instruments and laboratory workflows. Bob brings deep expertise in high-throughput workflow design, laboratory automation, and research technology strategy across molecular and cellular biology.
Prior to LILA, Bob served as Vice President of Computation and Lab Technology at Aera Therapeutics, where he led computational sciences, automation and robotics, and protein sciences. Before Aera, he was Senior Director and Head of Laboratory Automation at Beam Therapeutics, overseeing next-generation sequencing, LIMS, and laboratory automation.
He holds an MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign.
